On 10/3/23 we went on our third trip in the Little House on Wheels. This time we camped near Red Wing, at the Hay Creek Valley Campground. This campground was interesting because it had a saloon that was in a building originally built in 1887 as a general store.

This campground also had cats, chickens, and miniature horses. I would have liked to investigate the chickens close up, but the Humans wouldn't let me.

On Wednesday we went on a drive down the Mississippi River. The first stop was in Pepin, Wis.

The next stop was in Buena Vista Park in Alma, Wis. The view from the park is fantastic.

Buena Vista Park also has a walking trail from the top of the bluff down to Alma.

We explored Wabasha, MN next. The town was decorated for a Fall festival.

After all the hiking we decided to stop at a brewery. Reads Landing Brewing in Reads Landing, MN. This was my 70th different brewery. I only got to be outside in the picnic table area, not on the patio.

The day wasn't done yet. When we got back to Red Wing we climbed Barn Bluff. It was a pretty strenuous climb, but I did better than the Humans.

On Thursday we went to Frontenac State Park. This was a very interesting park. We walked along the top of the bluff first.

We also hiked on the Sandy Point Trail at Frontenac State Park. This path went from a wayside rest to the Mississippi River. This was a lot of fun. Wading in the river is one of my favorite things.

We ended the day with a visit to Tilion Brewing in Cannon Falls, MN. This brewery was in a very pretty location overlooking the Cannon River. It was getting cold and windy late in the day we only stayed a for a little while.

Overall, a very fun trip but it was sure nice to get home!
