We took our first road trip in the new pickup truck over the Fourth of July. I liked it about as well as trips in the other vehicle (that is, not too much) but the Humans starting listening to Country music, which is very concerning.

Our first stop was for lunch with friends at the Smilin' Moose in Hudson, Wis. After that we stopped at the Leinie Lodge in Chippewa Falls, Wis. It was a very hot day so the shade was very welcome.

We then drove to Wausau, Wis and checked in at the Hampton Inn. I checked to make sure there weren't any rabbits outside.

Next we had dinner at the Great Dane Pub and Brewing Co. The humans enjoyed their meal, but I really would have preferred hunting rabbits or chipmunks.

On the Fourth of July we had our family reunion at the farm in Antigo. It was nice meeting lots of new people but I didn't get to run free like I am used to.

We meandered home on Wednesday. The first stop was at the highest point in Wisconsin, Timm's Hill. I wasn't allowed to climb the observation tower at the top of the hill, but that's OK because I really don't like stairs.

The next stop was Memorial Park in Ladysmith, Wis. Ladysmith seems like an interesting place, so we may need to stop here again. The park included a very nice memorial to residents who lost their lives in foreign wars.

Our lunch stop was at Max's on the Lake, on Long Lake in New Auburn, a traditional little Wisconsin resort bar, but nicely updated. The Humans really enjoyed their food, and I was able to find French Fries on the ground. Very tasty.

No trip is complete without a visit to a brewery. We stopped at Lift Bridge in New Richmond, Wis. to stretch our legs. The beertender had a bowl of water ready for me before we even sat down.

We had dinner at music night at Powder Ridge Ski Hill, but the Humans were too tired to take pictures of me. I was pretty tired too, but lots of little kids pet me, so it was worth it.

Overall, a very busy trip with lots of people to pet me and lots of things to smell. I can't wait for the next trip.
